Half apron in linen embroidered with monogram and pink band (Ref. 172)
This women's apron is dedicated to my mother who has always used aprons without bib, for cooking and also for gardening.
The half apron is made of a beautiful antique fabric, obtained from a beautiful early twentieth century cloth, richly embroidered over the entire surface and with its high edge in delicate lace.
These are the fabrics that are unfortunately disappearing, those made with the finest linens of the past.
The embroidery is really intricate and cut flowers bloom from branches full of leaves and buds. The flowers are beautiful and the petals are formed by a delicate interweaving of threads.
The embroidery is completed by a beautiful monogram, MB, to remind us that this cloth was embroidered for the trousseau of a wealthy lady of the time.
On the bottom, two beautiful, elaborate and precious threads complete this cloth which testifies to the skill of the embroiderers of the time.
And the lace is also wonderful, a delicate fan of threads knotted with skill and experience, handmade by skilled and patient hands.
This apron features a long gathered skirt that I paired with an antique pink linen strap that extends at the back into two long ribbons that can be tied at the back, or brought back to the front and tied in a pretty decorative bow.
It is a beautiful apron, which will surely please those who prefer less covering aprons but do not want to give up the beauty and comfort of a garment that not only protects clothes, but gives the elegance that we seek on a special occasion.
Beautiful when worn with contrasting jeans or a tulle skirt, for an elegant dinner.
Unique piece. Hand washing is recommended to preserve the antique lace and embroidery.
You see it worn by me who is 1.64 m tall.
