In fact, this fine linen fabric hand-woven on a loom comes from an old trunk belonging to the grandmother of an ancient family from my Tuscany.
The cloth was made on a loom by expert hands and like all cloths of this kind the width was determined by the measurements of the loom, so the various cloths were sewn lengthwise by hand and these seams can be seen on the bodice and skirt. They are beautiful and constitute a further precious detail of this wonderful apron.
The front panel of the skirt is embellished with a beautiful original crochet border. Can you imagine how much time and patience it took to make it?
It is this edge that makes this apron romantic and suitable for all ages. It is in fact perfect for a girl, but also for an adult lady or a grandmother.
