EG Monogram Antique Cotton Kitchen Apron for Women (Ref. 22)
EG Monogram Antique Cotton Kitchen Apron for Women (Ref. 22)
You know that I can't live without my aprons, especially those in linen or thick cotton, I always wear them at home, not only for cooking, but also for carrying out the thousand household activities.
But I like to always be tidy so the apron has to be nice!!!! That is, it has to be able to be worn even when I invite friends to dinner, for example.
That's why I thought of this beautiful apron, which is almost a dress, to wear over clothes.
This apron is made of a beautiful heavy antique fabric, hand-woven on a loom over a century ago and very well preserved. These fabrics are increasingly hard to find, but I was lucky enough to buy it from a Tuscan family who had it among their family treasures, to give it a second life.
The cloth was very well preserved, with its evident, irregular and rustic texture. Truly beautiful in its wonderful uniqueness.
A uniqueness characterized not only by the particular fabric, but also by the two beautiful initials, EG, embroidered in a beautiful, very modern font.
These fabrics were hand-made on a loom and the various panels, whose width was dictated by the size of the loom, were hand-sewn lengthwise to obtain the desired width. These beautiful hand-made stitchings can be seen in various parts of the apron, becoming a real decorative element.
The model is typical of Cecibirbona: it features a bodice to which a rich gathered skirt is attached; the front and back are tied with two side bows.
It is worn from above in a very practical way, even without untying the side bows every time. It can also be worn, like all my aprons, in a way to make it more adherent, as you can see in the photos.
It has two comfortable and roomy pockets.
The edges of the skirt are the original ones of the cloth.
The fit is loose and comfortable, so it can be worn over skirts and trousers, but at the same time it is very graceful and feminine.
One of a kind.
The fabric is a pure, antique cotton, rustic and with a strong character.
Small imperfections and small stains testify to the age of this fabric and speak of its past.
Hand wash with mild soap or machine wash at 30 degrees on delicate cycle. Do not spin. Do not dry in the sun.
One size fits all. You see it worn by me who is 1.64 m tall.
