In my continuous search for ancient fabrics I sometimes come across real little great treasures, as in this case.
This beautiful, very large bath towel in a lovely medium-weight vintage fabric in its natural beige color, the beautiful large initial M and the crocheted frill, make it a truly beautiful and unique towel.
How much dedication, good taste, elegance and passion…
The large initial M was crocheted and applied to the cloth, it is perfectly executed and very original.
The crocheted frill found at both ends of the cloth was made in the same ecru cotton.
The person who made them did so with love and great skill, demonstrating how even an everyday object can be a true masterpiece.
And it can bring into our homes a touch of that atmosphere that takes you back in time, to things done well, with attention and dedication.
When even a dishcloth or a towel had their great value.
This towel can be used in the bathroom or even in the kitchen.
An object that captures the attention of those who know how to observe details, and alone is enough to embellish a corner of your home.
Fabric: Vintage linen and cotton.
Measurements: 127x71 centimeters.
Hand wash or machine wash on delicate cycle with neutral soap.
Do not spin or dry in the sun.
There may be small stains or imperfections that testify to the age of this cloth, which however is perfectly preserved and has probably never been used.
Consider in fact the age of these objects, their past history, the time and life they have seen pass by… the signs that time has left on them are added values, small traces that remind us that they come to us from another era.
Appreciate these little imperfections, they are beautiful and speak of the people who preserved them before us.
