Antique linen apron with lace (Ref. 4)
The apron for the most romantic friends, because the beautiful linen fabric with its wonderful lace that embellishes it, make this kitchen dress even more precious.
This cloth is part of a trousseau made up of several beautiful embroidered cloths, dating back to the second half of the nineteenth century, of a Tuscan lady.
The fabric is linen, a light and slightly greyish linen, hand-woven on a loom, with a natural colour characteristic of this type of fabric.
It is a fabric with a strong character, a little rebellious, that is not easily tamed and always remains a little alive, crumpled and beautiful, precisely for this reason.
The front panel of the skirt is embellished with a beautiful original lace border, an element that strongly characterizes this cloth and which we find on the two pockets.
We can imagine how much time it would have taken the woman to make it…
The model features a wide bodice that continues in two gathered panels connected on the sides by two bows. Two roomy pockets.
The fabric is a pure linen from the second half of the nineteenth century. You can see the longitudinal seams that allowed the panels to be joined together, the width of which was dictated by the measurements of the loom.
