Long vintage guinea apron
Long vintage guinea apron
A lovely kitchen apron, made from a vintage embroidered cotton guinea and embellished with a really beautiful lace!
An empire-style apron, with a short bodice to which is attached a long skirt featuring small loose pleats that caress the figure.
The bodice is the protagonist of this apron thanks to a beautiful original monogram that represents the two numbers AF embroidered in pink cotton in cross stitch. A very beautiful embroidery, made by expert hands, which was probably commissioned to the embroiderer by the recipient of the cloth.
Two long straps are inserted on the bodice which cross at the back and are fastened with two beautiful antique mother-of-pearl buttons.
The two roomy pockets are held in place by pink cotton details.
This is a beautiful fabric, one of those from the past, hand-woven on a loom, resistant but soft, destined to last over time. The loom-woven fabrics had a width dictated by the size of the loom itself and were therefore sewn by hand lengthwise and these resistant and perfect hand-made seams are beautifully displayed on the skirt and bodice. I tried to highlight them because they are truly beautiful.
The cloth was well preserved, and the decades that have passed since it was created have left some light marks that I did not want to completely erase with washing, because they are the wonderful testimony of its past history. Appreciate them before soaps and use make them disappear forever.
A true treasure, one of those as precious as they are rare and destined to run out, to which I have given a second life.
The fit is comfortable and there are three buttonholes on the straps to adapt it to different body types.
Upon request, it will be possible to embroider the name of the person who will wear it.
The fabric is a beautiful cotton from the early 1900s, so small imperfections characterize it and testify to its past history.
One size fits all, ready for delivery.
You see it worn by me who is 1.64 m tall.
